A report on the impact of climate change on humanity noted that about 166 million people in Africa and Central America, needed assistance between 2015 and 2019 due to emergency food associated with climate change.

Furthermore, between 8 and 80 million people are at greater risk of famine by 2050.

Climate change also harms Red Sea coral reefs due to the high temperature and acidity of seawater. In principle, coral reefs have declined by 50 % and have lost their beautiful purple color.

The most dangerous in all this is that a sea-level rise of one meter will lead to the sinking of 970 square kilometers of Delta territory according to the forecasts of World Bank experts.!

Further effects of climate change in Egypt 

As well as the rising temperatures will increase the demand for the use of air conditioners, which will affect the electric power!

Climate change in agriculture will lead to losses estimated at EGP 20 billion in 2030 to EGP 122 billion in 2060. In addition to financial losses resulting from flooded facilities and roads, according to the World Bank experts report.

What are the countermeasures Egypt trying to adopt?
