Use Money to Help Others

“If money doesn’t make you happy, then you probably aren’t spending it right”, a saying that has been approved by scientists. The relationship between money and happiness for decades and their conclusion is clear: Money buys happiness, but it buys less than most people think.

Money Rules Business, Money Rules life

"And give not unto the unwise your wealth which Allah has made a means of support for you." Surah “AL-Nisaa”

The fact that Money is attached to one of the pillars of religion, is manifested in the third pillar of Islam, the Zakat pillar. Zakat is money and financial worship, and a financial pillar of Islam. Other pillars of Islam are based on money. Praying needs building mosques, equipping them, and to serve their needs. Pilgrimage depends very much on the money. The charity also depends on money. Education needs money. Most types of jihad need money. So almost every aspect of our life depends on money. That what made Islam relies basis on keeping money and well-spend it on what matters. Therefore, wealthy Muslims throughout history have locked up their great wealth, which has been a tributary for all civilizational, religious, and worldly services and achievements.

The importance of money

Money enables its owner to live with dignity and chastity: give and do not ask, spend, and do not ask. In Sahih al-Bukhari about the Prophet, peace be upon him, he said:

“The upper hand is better than the lower one (i.e., the spending hand is better than the receiving hand); and begin (charity) with those who are under your care; the best charity is that which given out of surplus; and he who asks (Allah) to help him abstain from the unlawful and the forbidden, Allah will fulfill his wish; and he who seeks self-sufficiency will be made self-sufficient by Allah”.

In the agreed hadith about Abdullah bin Massoud said:

The Prophet said, “Do not wish to be like anyone except in two cases. The first is a person, whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously; The second is the one whom Allah has given wisdom (the Holy Qur’an) and he acts according to it and teaches it to others.”

From the previous, you can conclude that the hadith combined the grace of money with the grace of science and wisdom.

Who is the best, the pious rich or the poor?

By seeking, earning, well-managing, and spending halal money for good, the religious rich outperform the religious poor. But if the pious poor is better than the non-pious rich, the pious rich is better than the pious poor. The best believer is mentioned in the following verses in the Holy Quran:

But some say Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the world to come, and save us from the torment of the Fire. These shall have a portion of what they have earned, and Allah is quick in reckoning.

And in the hadith which states:

Some people from amongst the Companions of the Messenger of Allah said to the Prophet (PBUH), “O Messenger of Allah, the affluent have made off with the rewards; they pray as we pray, they fast as we fast, and they give [much] in charity by their wealth.” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Has, not Allah made things for you to give in charity? Truly every tasbeeh [saying: ‘Subhan-Allah’] is a charity, and every takbeerah [saying: ‘Allahu akbar’] is a charity, and every tahmeedah [saying: ‘al-hamdu lillah’] is a charity, and every tahleelah [saying: ‘laa ilaha illAllah’] is a charity.

And commanding the good is a charity, and forbidding an evil is a charity, and in the bud`i [sexual act] of each one of you there is a charity.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah when one of us fulfills his carnal desire will he have some reward for that?” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Do you not see that if he were to act upon it [his desire] unlawfully then he would be deserving of punishment? Likewise, if he was to act upon it lawfully then he will be deserving a reward”

Virtues of people who have money

One of the virtues of the people of money is that their bounty and reward will continue even after their death. So that their heirs will benefit from what they have inherited, and the people who are in need will benefit from their charity. Allah said:

Verily We shall give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before and that which they leave behind, and of all things have We taken account in a clear Book (of evidence).
Boundless consumption is boundless corruption

Wasting money is an enemy of saving, investment, development, and rational management of money. In addition to its effects on health, it has psychological and social damage and corruption. People are often happier when they spend their money on experiences rather than things
