Does It Mean Being a Good Muslim Means Being Weak?

It was related that Abu Hurairah reported about the Prophet (May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “A strong believer is better and more loved to Allah than a weak one, and both are good”. Adhere to that which is helpful for you. Keep praying to Allah for help, and do not refrain from it. If you are afflicted in any way, do not say: ‘If I had taken this or that step, it would have resulted into such and such,’ but say only: ‘Allah so determined and did as He willed.’ The word ‘if’ opens the gates of satanic thoughts”.

Explanation of Hadith:

A believer that has a strong faith, not a person with a strong body, as indicated in the Hadith. Such a believer is better than a weak believer and more loved to Allah than him. If both are equal in faith, then certainly the good of the strong one stretches to other people, while the good of the weak person limits to himself.

The Prophet (PBUH) gives a complete, accurate piece of advice, as he directs the Muslims to be persistent in achieving what pays a benefit to them, whether in times of religious or worldly affairs. If there is a struggle between an earthly good and that related to religion, the end should be provided priority over the earlier. This is because when one’s religion is sufficient; his earthly circumstances will be stable as well.

What does strong believer mean?

 The one who is :
  • Strong in terms of faith, obeying Allah, and supporting his religion
  • Command what is good and refusing what is evil
  • As well as being strong in education and body, enduring the challenges and facing the hardships
  • Patience with the judgment of Allah whether it is good or appears to be evil
  • Determination, firmness, and courage, honesty, and sincerity, until he fills the other branches of faith.

Beautiful Stories about A strong believer:

The story of Prophet Yunus

How the strong faith is good for an individual and society? Have you ever felt that you a bad situation sarraounds you and see no way of getting out of it? Does one look into the problems that the globe is facing today, and wonder how they will be solved?

The story of Prophet Yunus guides us that there’s always how out if only we’ve strong faith. Prophet Yunus was sent to preach to the people of Nineveh, a great city but had become a wicked place filled with idol worshipping and sin. But the people of his city refused him, even as many nations unacceptable the messengers before him. When he realized he didn’t manage to realize what he had hoped for and failed this mission, he left disheartened. Having left the town without the order of Allah, he boards a ship to line sail distant from the town. Once at sea, a huge storm grew stronger and stronger and began to sink. After casting lots 3 times, Yunus was the one to go away the ship.

In the water, something unusual happened. As Allah commanded, a whale swallowed Yunus, then descended to rock bottom of the ocean. Yonus faced total despair, engulfed by dark in the deep sea. It had been within the depths of despair that things changed for him. Albeit he was a religious man and a prophet, he sought aid from Allah. His strong faith supported him because it is merely Allah and not him, who was in control of all things.

The whale swam to the surface and ejected Yunus onto the shore. Then with the help of Allah, a plant grew over him to hide the prophet with its shade. And after his recovery from the ordeal, he returned to Nineveh, the town he lived in before. Its people were still good, therefore the terrible storm didn’t destroy it.

The story of Prophet Ayub shows his resilience, patience, and strong faith in dealing with Allah’s ordeals

It is one of the great stories entered in the Quran. He was a dutiful servant, strong believer, and esteemed man, who had been granted many bounties and wealth. But then was tormented by big suffering and illness for a long duration of time and lost his family except for his wife. His illness was so intense that not a single limb was freed from the disease, except for his tongue and heart, which he used to continually remember Allah. Not only he did not complain about his fate, but Prophet Ayub would also glorify and praise his Lord, supplicating and making prayers continually, with whatever was issued of his strength.
